I am running Windows XP. When the screen saver runs, all I ever get is the bouncing BOINC with the status message for either Seti or Einstein, whichever is running. I do not get the graphics for either project.

Also, sometimes the screen goes to blank even though I have that box UNchecked and the time box set to 60.

Which Boinc version and what make of videocard?

What's set at your Power Options (in Control Panel) for your monitor? Is it to power down there?

I think it's the graphics bug in Boinc 4.45 which is known. The version details say:
Graphics sometimes do not work with ATI Graphics card. This bug has been fixed, but it requires new applications to be built. Please check with the various projects to find out when they'll release a new applicaton with the fix.

Now as for the Seti application, it should be version 4.18 if you use the standard application. If you use an optimized Seti app (version 4.11 by Ned Ludd or TMR), it is not linked to the graphics libraries, so it will not work.

The Einstein application is in beta. It's installation files can be found here.

... all I ever get is the bouncing BOINC with the status message for either Seti or Einstein ...

If you installed as a service, that's all you'll get ... unless you change the service parameters to allow BOINC to run as local system user, interact with the desktop and you don't specify that the screensaver requires a password on resuming.

Of course both these options may violate your security policy, so please be careful if you elect to use them.
