Is vista not compatible with the boinc screensaver? Because the screensaver never starts for me. Even when I try to preview the screensaver, nothing happens. Is this just a problem that I am having, or is this just how it is?

That's just how it is right now.

Graphics for BOINC under Vista is hit or miss at best.

Full support should be coming with the 6.x.y line.

I am glad to see your post. There is more importance to the screen saver issue than
is generally acknowledged.

When I am running a computer with BOINC screen savers in my office, they serve as a calling card to people who come past my desk. They want to know how they can get those gorgeous images, and I tell them. Some have signed up.

I am running BOINC on two XP machines and two Vista machines. The two XP machines are PIII's, and the screen savers run fine. One Vista machine is my home desktop with Vista Home Premium. There, the BOINC screen savers run fine; but I choose not to run them so as to keep the crunching at as high a level as possible. But, on my work laptop, with Vista Business, the BOINC screen savers will be O.K. for a while, and then i will get a black or blinking screen. So, I can not run BOINC screen savers on that machine.

O would love for this to be fixed as soon as possible.
