Whenever I click on one of the "Web sites" buttons on the left side of the BOINC Manager (5.10.7), I receive a Windows (XP) informational pop up with this message: BOINC Manager tried to display the web page http://einstein.phys.umn.edu/faq.php but couldn't find a web browser. To fix this, set the environment variable BROWSER to the path of your web browser, then restart the BOINC Manager. It has been quite some time since the last time I've utilized any of the website buttons in BOINC and there has been at least a couple of Firefox updates too (using FF 2.0.0.5 currently). So I'm not sure when this issue arose. Can someone clue me into how to "set the environment variable BROWSER"? |

Nevermind on this issue. I updated to the newest version (5.10.13) and no longer have a problem. |

Oh good. I know what an environment variable is and I'm vaguely familiar on how to set them in Windows. But I'm not familiar enough with it to give concrete directions. Kathryn :o) |
