I noticed over the last few days that tasks on my Linux machine aren't running immediately after another is completed. I was just wondering if something has changed recently. For example..right now I have a task that says ready to report and an incomplete task that says 'Waiting to Run.' I believe it happened on my Windows machine too and I figured it was related to another project's application. Should I just let nature take its course or will it just be sitting their for a pretty long while? I consider this some sort of bug.

For the record, I came back after two hours of inactivity. I resorted to a reboot and it started again. The completed project was Rosetta, the one waiting to run was WCG. Ubuntu 7.04, sufficient RAM and swap file size.

Intrigued. Have you reported this at WCG? What you may want to try is suspending the projects (in Projects Tab) First the one finished, than the one waiting to run and resume them again.

Was 'Leave in Memory' on or off?
When you say 'incomplete' did it start at all?

The 'waiting to run' versus 'ready to start' suggests it was initiated and had seconds or minutes on the counter. Observed even in 5.10.8 and 5.10.13, where in fact BOINC has moved onto a next task/tasks.

I didn't know of a leave in memory option but I'll look into it, and yes there was progress when I said incomplete. I haven't seen this happen since. If it happens again then I'll report it and mention it here as well.
