I have tried boinc on a dual cpu machine Processor : 2 GenuineIntel x86 Family 6 Model 8 Stepping 6 996Mhz my problem is that Boinc is not able to use my 2 cpu. it only uses 1 so 50% of my ressources instead of 100%. was the program compiled on windows without smp, hyperthread, dualcore support? |

Go to your preferences and change the on multi CPU machines setting to use more CPUs. BOINC does work with multiprocessor machines automatically but has that limit in case a participant does not want all CPUs to be used. BOINC WIKI BOINCing since 2002/12/8 |

it fixed itself and i don't know how/why. thx anyway for the support, maybe i had to set the number of cpu by hand, for a particular reason... (it was already at 2) and it works fine now. |
