You say you reinstalled BOINC. Did you use another version of BOINC before this? If so, which one? What exactly did you do?

I can make a Trac ticket of it, but I need some more info then.

On one of my two new notebooks i have the same problem c2d T5500 1.66 ghz and Vista with two Gigs ram.
First installation of boinc. Now i have tried three times and its still the same. After the installation all works fine. But after a reboot or new start up of the notebook this message comes and the notebook (or the boinc manager) has lost the three project accounts it had before.

I'm assuming the directory that it's installed in is the equivalent of c:\program files\boinc.

Run down you cache. Uninstall BOINC. Delete the directory. Reinstall BOINC to c:\boinc. Vista has write issues with stuff in c:\program files\. I believe there's a change button in the installer that will allow you to choose the directory.

Let us know if that helps. I have BOINC installed to c:\boinc on Vista and it's working fine.

Yes thats what it is.
