Hi,
after upgrade to linux boinc x86 5.9.11 boinc manager doesn't run anymore. Trying to launch it from console give "segmentation fault".
No problem with previous versions (5.9.4).

It's known already and was asked by Rom on the Alpha email list:

I’ll be releasing the Windows builds a little later in the day. Let us know how the benchmarks work in this release, we are testing a new technique for building the compatible version of BOINC. We may need to tweak things a bit if the scores don’t line up to 5.9.5. Overall it’ll involve a lot less overhead than the previous technique. I’m interested in hearing about any compatibility problems with the manager, we built the manager on a different machine. So if the manager was working for you, and now it isn’t with the new release, I would like to know about it.

Please log bugs to http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/ and log test results to http://boinc.berkeley.edu/alpha.

You do know that these 5.9.x versions are test versions? If you truly want to wait for the next version, wait until 5.10 is released to the public.

Yes, I know.... this is the first problem I have with a test version. I thought this forum was the right place to report bugs, so I created this thread. ;)

The best place to report alpha issues is the email list. The developers don't read these boards on a regular basis. They leave it up to the volunteers to do that. Jord and I are in close contact with David, Rom, Walt and Charlie. But it does help the communications process if we don't play middleperson.

There is also the Trac system for reporting bugs. Rom has been asking bugs be logged there as well.

Note that both require registration as they are independent from these boards and all project boards.
