I've been using seti@home for a number of years, is it just me or is the set up for BOINC about as complicated, un-intuative and downright badly designed as to make it a right pain in the *** to get running as could be designed.

Surely an organisation as acedemic as Berkeley can devise a system that is easier to install than this crap.

I can see the number of people transferring or becoming Seti users or any of the other projects dropping off the register.

Martin,

I'm sorry that you feel this way about Boinc. I personally have to disagree with you, however. I find that BOINC is very easy to install and setup. The difficult thing about it is attaching multiple projects to a new install. This is multiplied if one is running a farm. However, even this has shortcuts and work arounds. Also, as Jord has mentioned, changes are coming down the pike to make this easier.
