I have ben running Seti and Rosetta, all installed in Drive C: without any problem. Until recently I put in a drive D:, and found out that Boinc manager is unnecessary accessing this D: drive, and waking it up from time to time.

This is very anoying. I do not know if this is Seti, Rosetta or Boinc problem. But looking at FileMon, Boinc is my best guess.

BTW, this screen saver is trying to invoke the Rosetta@home when I capture the log below. Any idea on how to prevent this from happening?

Could this drive be used as part of your swap space? Just a quick stab in the dark.

Boinc save data in the poject folder which is where it was installed. this is updated regularly at the checkpoints so that you don't loose the accumulated work should your system be turned off for whatever reason. This can be controled to some degree in your general preferences - Disk and memory usage -Write to disk at most every X seconds.
