BOINC 5.2.2 and 5.2.6 crashes when I use Zonealarm to interrupt all network traffic (the padlock icon on the Zonealarm screen).

Does it do this if you set "Network Activity Suspended" first? Does it crash immediately, or when it next tries to connect? What part of BOINC crashes? The daemon (boinc.exe) or the Manager (boincmgr.exe)? Does the science app continue to run?

It may be that there is a bug in BOINC somewhere, but I've been hearing "trouble" stories for a couple of months now about Zonealarm, and not just in the various BOINC forums. Never used it myself, so I can't tell you how likely the problem is to be there vs. in BOINC.
