When I try to attach to the seti project using an existing account it returns with :Failed to Attach to project" and the messages from server is blank.

Under the Messages area in Boinc Manager it says:

This for 5.2.x CCs
When you activated your account, you got an account key, but did you create a password for your account. If you didn't, you can do it when you go to "Your account" with "Change password".
With that password, not the password of Classic, and your e-mail address it should work.

Hmm, looks like an intermittent SAH problem...

Just let it run and it should sort itself out.

Could just been that the server is overloaded or the net is having problems, best to get it a few hours or a day to sort its self out.....All else fails, reboot, you never know....

Now I get?:

23/11/2005 2:49:06 p.m.|http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/|No schedulers responded
<snip>

The return value of 500 indicates an internal server error on the serving HTTP server (the scheduler).
If you have a look at the Technical News over at SAH, you'll see that they were experiencing some technical difficulties with the web server & database due to an influx of new users. The problem has since been resolved.

There's a reasonably good chance that this is the reason for the error that you received.
At the moment, everything looks to be OK, so you should try again.

[edit]
Do you pick the bad days to attach on purpose? ;-)
Seriously, give it another try and post your success or failure either over at SAH or back here.

Hello to everyone.
Actually trying to run 5.2.6 on various machines (about 45 serveurs should do as they now run an older application of seti e.g.)
Facts:
going directly thru a firewall works fine, but thru proxies NEVER!!
Environment: W2k3 server (no SP1) US, WSUS updates up-to-date, using ISA2004 proxies configured to allow clear-text authentication. Works fine in a browser (whatever it is), NEVER from BOINC manager.
Sympthoms: prompts for proxy info, ok, asks for boinc credentials, then msg 500 in the log, and GUI says "failed to attach", message from server "".
I refuse to open the firewall for direct connection from all servers within the infrastructure, and so will not be able to provide computation as from dec 15th (500 seti units a dy, for example).

Any suggestion, beside the classic pls check log/pwd (I do manage), reboot( of course, this is MS-based), any patch??

Thank you for the research
