Have QMC@Home running and all work units say "Suspended - user active" how do I fix this??? have tried resetting project, rebooting computer??

i assume this means that the 'Do work while computer is in use' option is set to 'No'. You can change it on the QMC project home page under your account settings, and then go into BOINC and do Advanced > 'Retry Communications', or wait until BOINC communicates with the project servers when it'll update.

Your other option is to set BOINC > Activity to 'Run Always'. That way it'll ignore the online preferences.

All that above is correct except the retry communications part.

You'll want to be in the advanced view with the tabs. Select the project tab. Click on QMC to highlight it and then click the update button.

Retry communications is for upload/downloads and if you're in a deferred scheduler request.

Actually, if you have a comm deferral for a pending scheduler request, selecting the "Retry communications" in the Advanced menu will force BOINC to connect to the project servers :)
