lucky for boinc i am not the only donator.

not so lucky for all the donators, boinc 5.2.2 is still not respecting our preferences.

i set my prefs to 5 days work. i have the disk space to support this.

all the projects i donate to have work. still my cache gets empty. and then after a while it gets work.

this means the prefs are useless anyway?
if i prefer a 5 day cache i expect work for something around 5 days.

You say your cache gets empty - meaning you run out of work on ALL projects, until the five days is up, then you get more? That would be a bug... unless you have net access blocked/off...

If, however, you connect - get 5 days work - then crunch through all of it, gradually emptying your cache - then, right before you are totally out of work (5 days or not) it kicks in and gets 5 more days work... that's what you've TOLD it to do!

"Connect Every 5 Days"!
