Since I installed the beta, and later, version 5.8.11, I have not seen a single entry under the Transfers tab in BOINC Manager. I am certain that files are being transfered, because BOINC always has work to do listed under the Tasks tab, and I periodically see finished files which later dissapear. Has this function been disabled, or is this a bug, or is there something wrong with my installation? |

Uploads of results are done immediately upon WU completion, if a connection is available, so you're not likely to see it happening unless your watching when a WU finishes. If you have Boinc Activity set to Network suspended then you will see suspended uploads in the transfer tab. If you then reactivate network access you will see in the transfer tab the upload occurring and possibly new work being downloaded. What you have seen in the task tab is the 'ready to report' status. Reports occur separately from the upload so that more than one WU is reporting in one connection. This is to save on the load placed on the database since most of the overhead involves opening and closing the database. It only take seconds to do a report and nothing shows up in the transfer tab during reporting. Boinc V 7.4.36 Win7 i5 3.33G 4GB NVidia 470 |
