The LODA Project has now passed a 140,000 Program milestone of programs discovered. It's not very sexy but it has applications for most OS's and has steady work. I am surprised that more volunteers are not crunching it.

Mathematics... meh. While finding the biggest kind-of-prime is important, it's not as important as medical and natural sciences imo...

Many useful things have become possible thanks to work that was based on what was at the time esoteric pure research.
