I followed the instructions at https://github.com/BOINC/boinc/wiki/Installing-Docker-on-Windows (which included having to enable WSL even though it says you shouldn't have to on Win11), got "Podman setup complete", but when I ran BOINC I got:

8/5/2025 12:09:14 AM | | Usable WSL distros:
8/5/2025 12:09:14 AM | | - boinc-buda-runner (WSL 2) (default)
8/5/2025 12:09:14 AM | | - OS: Linux (wsl: Failed to start the systemd user session for 'boinc'. See journalctl for more details.)

Since I know next to nothing about Linux I have no idea where to look for journalctl for those "more details."

BOINC is chugging along nicely crunching Einstein@Home tasks -- the only one of my projects that seems to have anything available for me.

So, what do I need to do to get Docker running like it should?

Thanks!

BOINC version 8.2.4
Windows 11 Home 24H2 (not as a service)
12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 (2.50 GHz)

I had a similar problem installing Docker on Windows 11 - instructions probably need to be updated. See if this message helps.
