What project(s) are your accounts missing from or are you saying that you lost your account here at the BOINC FORUMS? If the former, some project(s) could have deleted your account due to inactive status and/or GDPR (European privacy laws) compliance. If the latter, it's possible it could be one of two things: 1) You never created an account here. This forum is separate from any projects registration you might do. 2) It was deleted recently (in last few months) when they cleaned up the 'user' list. --- Never heard of trying to install BOINC causing hardware issues. Specifically what type of "hardware issues" are you experiencing trying to install BOINC? - OR - Do you mean software errors? Can you copy/paste the exact error message(s) in a new post below. Then me or one of the other volunteers can help you out. EDIT TO ADD ... World Community Grid just started a 1 month down time for upgrades today. Climateprediction.net and LHC@Home are both out of work at the moment. |

Just in the last 30min, we have had a couple of posts at Rosetta from 2 users that no longer have an account at Rosetta, even though they have been there & active for years. Their systems are now showing up as Anonymous in the Top hosts list. If they detach & try to re-attach to the project, they get "No such user There is no user with email address [email protected]. Try reentering your email address" But a search of the site shows them as existing. I recall that network issues can result in a system getting a new host ID (and Rosetta has been having server issues, but they've been going on for months and it's generally servers going down & being restarted/ Status pages freezing), but i've never come across users accounts going missing. https://imgur.com/a/3dqmpuO and the other user (sorry about the image size) Grant Darwin NT. |

Sadly, I think the only way this can be resolved is by the people running the project. |

In reply to Dave's message of 14 Dec 2024: Sadly, I think the only way this can be resolved is by the people running the project. It's looking that way. Many more people are posting about missing accounts. Rosetta have had server issues for at least 12 months now- although it's been the Validator/ Assimilator server that goes down for days at a time. It has also had the Server Status on the main page freeze on occasion, which has occurred this time as well. But now there is an error at the top of that Server Status section- Notice: Undefined variable: stats in /projects/boinc/rosetta/html/user/index.php on line 81 If a record isn't in the index, then for all intents and purposes, it doesn't exist. If a record isn't in the index, then for all intents and purposes, it doesn't exist.I think we have to hope their backup isn't corrupted too. |

In reply to Dave's message of 15 Dec 2024: I'm hoping it's just an index issue, and not the database itself. Re-index, and all will be well (hopefully). If a record isn't in the index, then for all intents and purposes, it doesn't exist.I think we have to hope their backup isn't corrupted too.
