Dear All,

long time BOINCer here, started in 2000 with my blue IMac and have never looked back. These days am crunching with a few headless RPis but am struggling with the installation on my 'desktop' RPi 4. This is running Debian Bookworm 64 with the latest official kernel 6.6.31+rpt-rpi-v8, and every time I open the Boinc-Manager on the desktop, the screen gets distorted beyond use and I have to do a hardware reboot (see image). This happens both via HDMI on my normal monitor and on the RPi's touch screen.

Any idea for remedies (apart from running it from the command line)? Many thanks.

It's a well known bug in Bookworm. Lots of reports on the issue. I have it too. You can try resizing the window to clear it. I can get even if the initial Manager window opens up legibly, but as soon as I change Manager tabs, the window distorts.
