Hi, another old machine has been dusted off and running with netBSD 9.3 i386, due to age (AMD K6 - no pae or cmov) . is there a boinc client binary anywhere for such a relic ? in this forum I found various links but all sadly broken |

Your other problem will be to find a project that still has applications that run on that old hardware. I don't think there are any. It's a 32bit CPU, isn't it? And an early one? 1997? I would do other things with it. There are channels on Youtube showing old hardware with period correct operating systems and programs and games. |

Thank you, yes that's a good point about projects I am running BOINC successfully on a fairly modest 2008 Dell Dimension 2150, doing Gamma Ray Pulsar detection. Takes around 2 days per unit. However this AMD K6 III clocked at 450Mhz is even older. Over on the reddit NetBSD thread mprime was suggested, and I'm running that now, so maybe the answer is to pick my distributed computing programmes to fit my menagerie of computers |

Thank you, trouble is this machine is not i686 compatible , having neither PAE or CMOV instructions. I think I will experiment with mprime which was fairly easy to install and see how its copes with that for a few days. Thanks for the pointers to the source |
