I have no idea whether this is a boinc, bionic manager or WCG issue. I only run WCG and have just noticed that boinc manager is showing two tasks "running," time elapsed is clocking over as usual but progress is showing 0.00% and has been for over 30 minutes. I first noticed this last night (different work units) - tried suspending then resuming, but made no different. Aborted those tasks as they were due to expire. Two new tasks started last night and when I checked this morning - same issue. Had been "running" all night, but no progress. I reset the project, rebooted Boinc, and two new tasks were started. These are the two I am now seeing 30 minutes later - exactly the same issue. I have checked my results stats, and no results have been returned since 30th October, so this has clearly been an issue since then. I have posted on the WCG forum but nobody else appears to be experiencing this issue. Is this likely to be a Boinc Manager issue? Has anyone here experienced this behaviour? EDIT: I have just checked again, and time elapsed on these units has "restarted" - now showing they have been running for only 20 seconds! |

Sounds like you have BOINC set to "use CPU xx% of the time" instead of setting it at 100% of the time. To help us with your problem(s), please reply with the following information: * What version of BOINC do you have installed? * What operating system is installed on the computer? * Stop and exit BOINC. Wait 1 minutes before restarting it again. * Then post the first starting 30 or so lines of the "error log" once tasks start up. --- Control+Shift+E brings up the screen with the log. Click on the button towards the bottom of the window that says "copy all" and paste in notepad file, then you can copy & paste the contents of the notepad in a reply message here. |

I would also ask, which WCG project? (I have only had MCM1 tasks from them for quite a while.) Also worth checking in the WCG forums to see if anyone else has the problem. The event log information should show this but just in case. |

Thanks for the replies. Weirdly enough, the issue appears to have resolved itself. I was crunching Mapping Cancer Markers Dave, which now appears to have no work available as I woke up to zero tasks running (or queued). The old days of crunching are long gone. Very few projects to crunch these days - any of interest anyway. The fun has gone out of it for me. |
