BOINC database is up and in a good state. We are waiting on two more servers to regain access to the network, at which point we will be restarting the scheduler, transitioner, assimilators and validators.
All deadlines for outstanding MCM1 work units have been extended to just after 6:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on January 15th, 2025.
Web site is up; stats will be updated soon.
Forums are up.

No new updates from Krembil/WCG... So I will guess based on yesterday news that it's sometime next week to restart the BOINC SCHEDULERS BACKEND.

Forums are up and running.

WCG is up and running. After some problems, visiting 2018 through a worm hole, which f'ed up lots of tasks, they managed to return to 2025.
New work is being sent out too.

Yes, indeed. It looks like things are back up and running.
A pleasant surprise after being badly let down so often in the past.

Yeah, getting works units on my ryzen 5700x, and M4 Mac mini CPU cores, around 50% utilization and 5 tasks at the same time for both, although I'm not getting any GPU works units, neither on my RTX 3060 nor the Apple Silicon GPU cores.

Update: Now getting 100 percent CPU Utilization on both CPU’s, which is 10 and 16 concurrent tasks respectively, but still no GPU WU’s.

All our servers are back online. We are downloding processed work units and sending out new ones, and they have the right deadlines (after the initial glitch with the time).
We have noticed 92,194 results that ended up in an error state. We saved all these in a file so we can repair this issue. We'll be able to rescue these, especially since there is no file deleter or db purge daemon running for now, so all data related to these workunits is still on the filesystem.
We will continue to monitor the system to make sure it is stable.
We are also working on getting MAM project into beta.
Thank you all for continuing to support research. Happy new year.

No ARP tasks yet but after changing home profile to allow other tasks when no ARP ones available got a bunch of MCM to keep me going.

WCG website is down with the usual System Error.

First time in 2025.

Edit: It's back. Seems to have been a short glitch, or perhaps they shut something down, to do some quick maintenance.

Got my first ARP task since the project returned. Download speed limited by my bored band rather than the project's servers. Will see if the same is true of uploads when it finishes.

Upload speed also limited by my bored band rather than project servers. Mind you that might not be the case when there are a lot more ARP tasks out there to hammer the servers!

My ISP provides very high Internet speeds. Verizon FiOS. In November, speeds for ARP1 were so slow I could get them from looking at the Transfers tab. Now they are so fast the never appear there long enough to see there are any.

So here are all the uploads from one task as it finished. They seem to go up pretty fast. About a minute and 6 seconds to send them all up.

The BOINC part of WCG is currently screwed up. Uploading tasks works, but reporting and getting new work is borked.
The reason for that is:
"Server can't open database" error, project backoff 1 hour

I guess that will not be fixed, until Monday at the earliest.

Two tasks reported since I first looked this morning. I have my preferences to just accept ARP tasks and while no new ones, I am just getting the no tasks available for Africa Rain Project message.

Well, that was a huge surprise that they fixed it during the weekend. It started with people getting the ""Server can't open database" message from BOINC, which later became the " Feeder not running" message. That was a clue, that someone was doing something with the servers.

Though only one new task since I posted and that is less than an hour away from finishing. MCM tasks still coming through on phone, just the ARPs seem to have dried up.

I have been getting solid ARP1 tasks since 2025 January 19. And MCM1 since 2025 January 8. Both on my Linux machine.

All downloads cleared. I suspect everyone downloading at once when tasks returned.
