Here is on forum discussion of this terrible news. There is some intentions and will to keep the flame (on table: volunteering, picking up, forking, remaking, and blame campaign (in order of effort required)). But no signs of resolution yet. I'm counting for science, points just make me sick. |

Your Signature is why WUProp is important. It gets the little new projects noticed. |

Here's a post on the WUProp bulletin board stating PrimeGrid project admins have offered to help in any way possible including taking over the project entirely. 🤞👍 http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/forum_thread.php?id=598&sort_style=&start=60 |

WuProp is gone forever unless Sebastien takes up one or more of the offers that was provided to him. Also see original post on project website before it gets taken down WuProp was science. It was a repository / database of BOINC projects, their applications and how popular they were by measuring the hours people who ran the NCI (Non Compute Intensive) project in tandem with their other projects. |

A slight piece of usefulness for someone to decide which project to run. No great loss. Respectfully in disagreement with your opinion. Many small science based projects have gotten their user jump start because of WUProp. The competitive nature of WUProp encouraged users to create accounts on every new Project and every add on Application to existing projects. When Einstein would create a new application usually WUProp would be showing the application in Beta status before it was listed on the Einstein project. I went from a cruncher of about 8 projects to a cruncher of over 121 projects / applications in excess of 100 hours of computation. To Distributive Computing in general a significant loss. Bill F |
