I was running version 4.45 on windows xp sp2 with no problems. I uninstalled it and installed the newer version with no problem. But when i started the client it hung with "not responding". I rebooted my computer and started it again, still not responded.
Then I uninstalled the newer version and reinstalled version 4.45 but when i started the client it also now not reponding. I rebooted the computer but it didn't help. I uninstalled version 4.45 and installed version 4.19 and I have no problems, it's up and running. What is wrong??

Well, your description is a little, um, confusing.

But, my *GUESS* as to what you MAY have seen is where the BOINC Manager does not successfully connect to the BOINC Daemon. But, this is just a guess as I am not sure where you saw the "not responding" error.

Or, how you had installed it, or started it ...

So, you are operational at the moment. But, for any of us to help, you are going to have to re-do the installation and be much clearer as to what is happening or not and how you detected the problems.
