Apparently TPM 2.0 USB keys will be available, https://buyzero.de/products/letstrust-tpm2go-usb-2-0 Install Windows 11 on an "Old PC" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFEI9yM8Ia8 If you have a bidder (refer to the predictive value of the product in the future) it will be fined by function (without bugs from Boinc Cpu and Gpu (Milkyway, Asteroids, Rosetta, WCG, etc, and folding @ home). Download Winpass11 https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/winpass11.html Synchronization with Windows 11 on the impression that MicroSoft has been discriminated against by Apple (icons of the desktop at the center, bordering of round windows, stops in the fork of the material for the next version of the ...) and how to do it each change of Windows version, these are the same functions as before but they have changed places, you have to look for them ... For PCs under Windows 11, the version is not recognized in Boinc Microsoft Windows 10 Professional x64 Edition, (10.00.22000.00) 6 Aug 2021, 22:10:20 UTC Microsoft Windows 10 Professional x64 Edition, (10.00.22000.00) |

Thanks for taking the time to test this on old hardware and posting it out here. The present client doesn't recognize Windows 11 yet, that's fixed in #4468 and will come in a later BOINC release. |

I thought the sticks were the computer. I think running boinc on any PC with 14nm or larger CPU lithography is not really recommended, as it uses too much power per computation. Would have loved to see a 'PC' like the USB sticks you show, to run boinc tasks from :) |

Thanks for taking the time to test this on old hardware and posting it out here. I'm in the process of upgrading my CPU/MOBO, when will this fix be released for testing? |

https://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/?C=M;O=DAnd your point is? The newest Windows version shown via that link - v7.16.16, dated 27 October 2020 - is to be avoided. It has a nasty bug which prevents re-opening the Manager after closing it, when run on Windows 8.1, 10, and (presumably) 11. I don't know whether the currently recommended v7.16.11 has been rigorously tested under Windows 11 yet, but I suspect not - unless you're in a position to do that? The reported fix in #4468 is purely cosmetic (correct reporting of the Windows version details), and is too new to be included in either the v7.16.11 or v7.16.16 downloads. |

I am running Windows 11 Pro 64 on two HP Z Xeon PCs (600 + 620), and no problems with Boinc 7.16.11 (x64), Milkyway Gpu (4 x Gpus)+ WCG (3 x Cpus). https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/winpass11.html |

The way that is showed in the video works on my test laptop. Personally when I upgrade though I want a clean install so there aren't lingering files leftover from previous OS's. Also, I highly recommend just backing everything up to One Drive. When I signed in everything came right back. |

We were getting user reports of spam from this thread, due to the nature of the links given in it. I did check earlier this week at the links given and saw nothing wrong with relation to it being a commercial website that asks money for all its apps. Most apps and utilities can be downloaded for free from this site, with just a handful also offering a paid version but that's because they are also available in paid versions (for companies mostly). I'm just not sure if I should reopen the thread purely based on it being advice to load Windows 11 on hardware that's not recommended for it. Plus we're the BOINC forums, this has in essence nothing to do with BOINC. But if the thread owner disagrees, he can contact the moderators via the red-X and make his statement. |
