No, it's not released yet. But will be soon. In the mean time, check out https://github.com/BOINC/boinc/releases/tag/client_release/7.18/7.18.0 for its list of updates, fixes and known issues. |

Looks like it might be worth alpha testing for me. Being able to "view and remote control" the Android client via a desktop manager such as Efmers BOINC Tasks is a major plus. |

Please report test results here:I'm testing version 7.18.0 and have some remarks, but I am not an official alpha-tester (and don't want to be), so can't submit your test_form. Thus I'll post it here: - After almost a day the UI for BOINC give no access to menus: tasks, projects, preferences. Somehow (zoom-in BOINC-screen) I got access to the event log, but nothing else. Thanks to BoincTasks remote access, I could see tasks were still running. - The mini BOINC-icon in the top phone line told me 'Nothing to do'. Uninstalled and install v7.18.0 again. Issue solved. - Progress bar is not updated when tasks screen active. |

Other options to post to are: - The BOINC Alpha email list: https://groups.google.com/a/ssl.berkeley.edu/forum/#!forum/boinc_alpha (I just posted my report to there) - Directly into BOINC's Github repository: https://github.com/BOINC/boinc/issues |

My problem with the Android app is working out if something is a project issue, a phone issue or a BOINC issue. The only thing I am reasonably sure is a BOINC issue so far is that Rosetta told me I needed another 2.9GB of disk space. It kept telling me that even when I had freed up over 5GB of space by moving a backup to Desktop computer and the only thing that made it see there was space was a reboot. Everything downloaded so far from YOYO and Moo Wrapper has crashed. Edit: On the plus side, having freed some space, Rosetta tasks seem to run OK. |

Everything downloaded so far from YOYO and Moo Wrapper has crashed. Yeah that happens here as well, I assume it's the 32bit compatibility library issue. Which you cannot easily fix unless you rooted your device or put your own ROM onto it. So just don't use those projects on a 64bit device. As for your other issue, present BOINC allows for setting of download days and extra storage, maybe check "Show advanced preferences" and check things like "Max. used storage space (%)" which defaults to 90% and "Work unit buffer (days)" (default 0.1) and "Additional work unit buffer" (days) (default 0.5) |

Thanks, I have freed up space now but BOINC should have seen the extra space without my having to re-boot. I have removed YOYO but Moo Wrapper does have credit on the device so I may play a little more before removing it. YOYO had 0 credit on that phone so clearly I never got it going. |

New Android app 7.18.0 is possiblly incompatible with WuProp. I have cross posted on the WuProp forums same info hoping maybe the project owner will see it and reply. Since I updated to ANDROID BOINC V 7.18.0 on my cellphone all tasks error out as invalid. |

It would be nice if selecting ,add project. from the main menu gave the option to add from url rather than having to chose <projects> then go to the three dots at top right of screen to find the option to add from URL. |

Tried adding it on my Fairphone2 task errored out at once. Second has reached 0.6%. Will check back later to see how it is doing. Edit: Now at 8% |

In fact, first two errored out almost at once. A third is now 88% completed. Probably would have finished by now if the phone didn't keep overheating. |

New Android app 7.18.0 is possiblly incompatible with WuProp. One out of first three tasks has completed and validated. Despite having BOINC on phone set to use a maximum of one core at a time, BOINC is showing two tasks as running, one from WuProp and one from Rosetta. If all except one project is paused, only one task shows as running. I have yet to work out whether two are really running at once or BOINC is swapping between the two but to me, either way this is a bug. Never run WuProp with earlier versions of boinc so I don't know if this is something to do with it being non cpu intensive or not? |

New Android app 7.18.0 is possiblly incompatible with WuProp. BOINC will count all tasks including such NCI's as WuProp as running plus any other regular tasks. So if you have 1 active project task + WuProp running that would = 2 running tasks according to BOINC. NCI tasks usually don't take more than a very small percentage (1% or less) of a CPU. |

Thanks, knowing that means I don't have to worry about it slowing down my CPDN work on main computer either. |

It would be nice if selecting ,add project. from the main menu gave the option to add from url rather than having to chose <projects> then go to the three dots at top right of screen to find the option to add from URL. I've put that one in Github: Ticket #4437 |

New Android app 7.18.0 is possiblly incompatible with WuProp. Some additional information if it is helpful: Over the last days before posting, I have tried with and without ENABLE GUI_RPC along with a password. Also tried not remote monitoring the Android client using Efmers BOINC Tasks with same error messages. |

I have noticed that the two which has completed are <Data collect version 5 v5.07 (android_arm_pie)> I have a third which I think will complete soon. The three that have crashed are, <Data collect version 5 v5.03 (android_arm_non_pie)> But, looking at your android phone's tasks I see that that isn't helpful and not statistically significant for mine yet either. |

For my devices, the one that got the Data collect version 5 v5.03 (android_arm_non_pie) tasks, they all crashed. All later received Data collect version 5 v5.07 (android_arm_pie) run fine across the board. On everything Android 7, 8.1, 9 and 10. |

After some more testing, I think I found the problem with WuProp ERRORING out and becoming INVALID on the new Android build for the "can't connect to Unix domain socket" error message. SOLUTION: DISABLE REMOTE MONITORING - GUI_RPC in the Android client. Ran task # 107461566 with remote monitor enable to start, then DIABLED it and let it finish the task and it VALIDATED and reported hours hours on WuProp. 21:09:48 (9759): Mise en veille (derniere requete date de moins de 30 secondes Edit to fix url link & to add I will run one or more tasks with remote monitoring disabled. |
