1.) Why is this not there?

There is apparently a portable apps boincversion;

but I can’t see it in the list of recommended boincversions on the boinc page:

Is this “official”, vetted, tested or recommended?

2.) Why is this still there?

On the boinc wiki page " Installing boinc"under point 3.7 “Using a bootable image”:

Instead of some PADOLF@home-nonsense and then “404 not found” it links now directly to “404”

I don’t know why this would be helpful, or why it was ever there in the first place . . .

It is my understanding that the forum and wiki is ran by unpaid volunteers.
A lot of the Wiki info is outdated.
