Recently changed my main BOINC unit to an AMD 5800X, 64G/CAS16, Win10 20H2 and brought over my older 1070ti card (until I can get a non-scalped GPU). I noticed that when the BOINC screensaver kicks in, in the upper left corner is the text "NO DC" - what did I miss in the new unit? I don't recall ever seeing that notice before in the screen saver on any of my other units. Am I missing a GPU/OS driver - pretty sure PhysX, etc are installed. |

Not a part of BOINC, but apparently a text overlay by a third party app such as Godot. See also https://linustechtips.com/topic/1319263-no-dc-on-all-games/ Hope you uninstalled the AMD drivers prior to installing the Nvidia card as having these on a system with an Nvidia card can give trouble in Windows. |

Thank you for the quick response! Should have figured "Linus Land" had something in there ;^) I typically only updated the nVidia drivers if there was an issue directly affecting my setup and this looks like a very recent "issue" caused by an nVidia update so it wasn't seen yet on my "old" core unit - (I haven't even run my first game on this yet - BOINC attached projects, thermal management and tuning first, gaming later when I need to relax from the datacenter day 8^D ) It's a custom build, the only AMD drivers installed are the needed X570 ones for this RoG board and the software raid drivers for the two Gen4 2T 890 Pro's. Thank you again for pointing me in the right spot! |
