Building from source on Xubuntu20.04 falls over after a number of undefined references to wxWebView

/usr/bin/ld: /usr/include/wx-3.0/wx/string.h:477: undefined reference to `wxWebViewBackendDefault'

I found this thread which seems to be the same problem but no answer.

This is on a clean install of 20.04

I know I can just go with the repo version which is what I am doing for now but would quite like to solve the problem.

This was also an issue on my old machine after doing an upgrade to 20.04 via do-release upgrade.

It seems to me that the default packages with 20.04 don't seem to work or at least not easily. Has anyone successfully done a build from source on 20.04?

If so, some pointers would be gratefully received!
