BOINC doesn't do any work therefore the error tasks get are also not its fault. You have to ask at the project what went wrong as its their application that faulted here. Check their forums for information (you can search): http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_index.php

And seeing how this is with application 4.20, best ask in Rosetta 4.1+ and 4.2+

Probably better to take this up with the Rosetta project as it looks like an error in the application BOINC downloads from them rather than anything wrong with how BOINC is functioning.

Google suggests either a problem with the application or your registry. It is sometimes the case that some input files for an application lead it to an error. (My experience of this is with CPDN) I have never run Rosetta so don't know if this ever happens there. If it is a problem with the task causing the problem subsequent attempts at it will show up on the work unit page
