Very windy and stormy as Storm Éowyn crosses over the UK ⚠️🔴

Damaging winds across Northern Ireland and into parts of Scotland accompanied by rain and snow

Heavy rain pushing eastwards, followed by hazy sunshine for much of England and Wales

Will check with my sister near W coast of Scotland later when she may be awake. (Assuming cell phone coverage and landline with interweb are working for her!)

Tomorrow I'm getting under the knife. First a cataract surgery on my left eye, and on February 25, the same on my right eye.
With some luck, I'll see the world as it is afterwards, and not as I see it now.

I have the same at some point. Father had about 10 years between the first signs and having to stop driving till after surgery settled.

Hope it goes well (and they put the correct lens in the correct eye).

(I'll ask you how many fingers I'm pointing up in a few days time - nearest guess wins...)

Yeah, it was 6 years ago that my first signs came when my eye doctor said that it will get worse, but you can wait a bit longer.
but now it's time to do it. I stopped driving voluntarily a year ago or so, when I no longer clearly could read the road/traffic signs.
Thanks Dog, that the standard lenses that I selected, and the surgery, is covered by our general healthcare system. I only have to pay a very small sum.

Yeah, since it's some days between the left and the right eye surgery, I hope they only have the left eye lens at hand tomorrow.

Absolutely, I have been given 2 different kind of drops, that I should use.
1 drop of each, 3 times a day for 3 weeks. But I'll get help from my local health clinic to do it for me. I hate doing that myself,
especially in newly operated eyes,

I will need new lenses. About 100USD equivalent though if it takes the same time as it did for dad, they will have gone up a bit by then.
