Hi fellow BOINCers! It's a basic question, but I'm not getting it. I'm setting up on a new machine, and was prompted to select a computer. The "host name" translates to the computer name. Now the toughie: what password does it want? It's not my SETI password; I just changed that, since I've been logging on by copying and pasting that old login string. It's changed, since I logged in here. sadly, I won't be crunching until I figure it out, or get some help. Thanks in advance! |

Hi again, sheepishly, I have to admit that the string was already in the password feild. I wrongly assumed I'd have to enter something, and mucked about. Sorry for the wasted space, but I'm definately happier now. Thanks! |

G'day Ralph You can set the password to whatever you would like it to be. In your BOINC directory is a file called gui_rpc_auth.cfg open this with a plain text editor (in windows use notepad) and edit the string that it contains. CIC1=CC=C(C2=N[C@@H](CC(OC(C)(C)C)=O)C3=NN=C(C)N3C4=C2C(C)=C(C)S4)C=C1 |
