My Android device is set on a venue which I've specified to cache 0.01 days only, and that seems to work. My desktop machines are controlled by local preferences, so there's no conflict.Android BOINC uses local preferences only. Plus in 7.16.3 the user can set his own cache size, something that cannot be done in for instance 7.4.53, where the defaults are 0.1 and 0.5 So what cache size does Keith have set? |

Plus in 7.16.3 the user can set his own cache size, something that cannot be done in for instance 7.4.53, where the defaults are 0.1 and 0.5 I think it was on 5 days total at the time that it fetched 105 tasks, I had that set in order to attempt to get a few more SETI tasks, and I forgot to change it before attaching to Einstein :-( The tasks reported to Einstein so far are around 95,000 seconds or 26 hours When the tasks on board dropped below 100, I tried Resetting Einstein on the device.because the Tasks Tab was still blank, the task count on the side bar was also 0 I tried restarting BOINC before resetting the project. I got 12 tasks back out of my original allocation, still have NNT set. Tasks Tab was back to normal. I reduced the cores in use to 4 from 8 at some point, and everything appeared normal overnight. This morning I decided to start aborting some of the unstated tasks that I thought would not complete before deadline I managed to abort about 20 before I started to get more tasks downloading again ! NNT was still set, but these are from my original 105 When tasks on board reached about 32, the Tasks Tab contents disappeared again :-( It appears from https://einsteinathome.org/host/12824479/tasks/1/0?page=2 that most of the remaining 79 are back on board. I can still see the Event Log, and the Android Notification area also shows how many tasks are running I'm probably going to allow the tasks currently running to continue for another 24 hours, which should allow up to 8 more to complete I really don't want to continue with a blank Tasks Tab for the next 10 or 12 days, I suspect that 32 is probably the trigger point for this behaviour Can I try switching to a different build of BOINC without losing work ? Is there any way to abort unstarted tasks on the server side ? |
