I am running BOINC 7.14.2 on a Win 7 laptop with PrimeGrid, Moo! Wrapper and Work Community Grid projects. The last PrimeGrid task took over 20 days to complete and since that time (2/20/2019) no need PrimeGrid jobs have been scheduled. The other two projects typically take less than a day to complete each task. I see this forum title's message in the Event Log for the PrimeGrid project. How do I kick start this project to get new tasks? Can you explain the scheduling priority value shown in the Project Properties? |

If you have the resource share set to the default for all projects, they should get equal computing time averaged out over a long enough period. This assumes all projects follow the rules. Short term if you have a mix of projects with short and long tasks, this often looks like it isn't working. CPDN for instance can have tasks that on some computers last for three months or longer! You can kick start a project into downloading work by suspending tasks from other projects or you can set the resource share via your account page on the various projects. I only use projects other than CPDN to fill in when there is no work available for either it or the testing branch so I set other projects to zero which means they only try and get work if none is available for my main project. |
