I keep getting a message from the server saying that i have no disk space (you must free 236.7mb disk space) before BOINC gets space. I don't understand, i have over 6,000mb (6gb) free!!! Does anyone else have this problem? |

In the preferences for your project you can set what disk space to use. Example given, Einstein@Home, Your Account, edit/view General Preferences, Edit preferences. (this sequence is the same on all projects). Disk and memory usage Use no more than 100 GB disk space Leave at least (Values smaller than 0.001 are ignored) 0.001 GB disk space free Use no more than 50% of total disk space Write to disk at most every 60 seconds Use no more than 75% of total virtual memory Those are the default settings. Set the number for "Use no more than x GB of disk space" to something that is in the neighborhood of your real disk space. So if you have a 40GB harddrive, the number is best set to 40. Then set the "Use no more than x% of total disk space" to something higher, as 50% of a 40GB HDD is 20GB. If you only have 6GB free, you are using more than 50% of the disk already. So a number like 90% or 99% is better. Having done that, save your changes with the button on the page. Then open Boinc Manager, Projects tab, select the project, press the Update button. This way your new preferences will be downloaded to BOINC and it knows what to do next. One addition, Seti has some problems with updating its preferences at this moment. So please say what project this is for, so I or someone else can help you set the amounts manually. In that case also state which BOINC version you use. |
