Hello! I'm having issues with BOINC after restoring my computer from a backup after a power outage trashed my filesystem. I'm running OS X 10.9.5, and this is happening with fresh installs of both version 7.14.2 and version 7.12.0 of the BOINC client. I've tried to install fresh several times, including deleting the data folder in both the system and user library folders. But every time, it gives me the following error message (copied and pasted verbatim): "BOINC ownership or permissions are not set properly; please reinstall BOINC. (Error code -1005)". Google hasn't been much help, nor has repairing permissions in the Disk Utility app. I'm stumped. |

Hello! I'm having issues with BOINC after restoring my computer from a backup after a power outage trashed my filesystem. Disk utility can't help. I'm guessing that in the restore/rebuild that the name/number combinations for the users table have changed. If I were sitting at your machine I might have some things to try, but I'm not, so ... Try uninstalling BOINC. Then go into system preferences -> users and groups and delete the boinc_master and boinc_projects groups. Hopefully at this point a fresh install will put things back on track. |

I assume, another Installation is in Progress you must complete the installation before continuing this one |

I did as you suggested, but it didn't help. Still throwing the same error. I did not delete the "access_bpf" group, however. |

I have the same problem. Deleted, reinstalled, removed the groups, restarted, swore at it. Frustrating. Mojave 10.14.3 |
