If Windows Update automatically restarts the computer during the night, does it exit the BOINC manager gracefully? I have the manager set to stop processing tasks and nothing is retained in memory when exited. I wouldn't expect it to exit BOINC manager (or the client) gracefully, no. Knowing Windows Update, it'll just forcefully cut off programs prior to rebooting. |

IIRC doze update will ask once and only once nicely to quit then it quickly just gets nasty. I'll add that if you are using a project that doesn't checkpoint, you will lose all the work done no matter the memory setting. Also VirtualBox doesn't play nice with windoze shutdown. |
