This computer, labelled, "Linux laptop" runs BOINC natively under Linux when CPDN has tasks for this. Otherwise, it runs the Windows version under WINE. Is there a way to spoof the Windows one into giving the computer a different name so I don't have two computers (I know, one actually) with the same name and I can see on the project website which one is which without having to click on the relevant link? |

The computer name has no impact on how BOINC runs - you are the only person who can see it. |

Searching around a bit you can set this in the registry in Wine. https://wiki.winehq.org/Regedit https://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?t=11136 |

Thank you. I Should have thought about changing things in WINE rather than BOINC. This seems to work. |
