I am setting up BOINC for a friend of mine, I installed BOINC, set up Norton to allow BOINC, boincmgr and the screensaver through. However, when I click Show Graphics, I get a window, that is black.

I checked, and there are no errors. I also allowed Norton to connect, but still no avail

Make sure your friend is using the latest drivers for his videocard, the latest DirectX 9.0c update (you can find that one here) and that his videocard can even do OpenGL 1.2 (all modern cards and chipsets are compliant, it's older versions that may not be able to do it).

You can also try to reboot the system, see if that fixes it.

There's a useful post on testing graphics compatibility and updating graphics card drivers here:

Ok, reboot fixed it. It also seemed that it does not transfer the graphics over Remote Assistance.

Thanks!
