Hello,

I recently migrated to a new computer. I had been running three projects (SETI, Einstein and SZTAKI) on the old machine. I finished my WUs on Einstein and SETI, so I disabled getting new work on those apps. I was 40% complete on Szataki, so I suspended it and transitioned to my new (and much faster) computer. I was not able to copy the BOINC and app files over to the new computer, so I re-attached to the three projects. I am gettings lots of work from Einstein and SETI, but I keep getting Comm deferred messages from SZTAKI. The deadline date for thw SZTAKI was Oct. 28. AM I going to get the Comms messages ubtil sometime after that date or can I force SZTAKI to give me new work? BTW, my new machine has the old computer name. Is that part of the issue?

Thanks,
Jim Wilkins

Let's await the answer on the SZTAKI forums. They ought to know if their system is up&running. ;-)

Yeah. So far, that hasn't worked real well. One answer said that something called Homogeneous redundency is enabled and that is why I can't get new work. ANother said that Homogeneous redundency is not enabled and the problem is in Mac OS. Neither answer helps me a whole lot. I currently am not suspecting the OS since I am runnung great an my other two projects.

Jim.

I was one of the people who answered you on the project forums.

Every time I've seen that message it has been on a project where homogeneous redundency has been enabled.

However it seemed like Nightbird was saying that you have a new Intel Mac. There probably isn't an application for that yet.

Sorry for confusing you.

I didn't look at your computers and I was tired when I posted.

Hi,

That's a good point. I guess I assumed that if BOINC manager is a universal binary (which means that it can run on an Intel Mac), the apps would. That probably is not a good assumption.

Thanks,

Jim
