When I tried to install BOINC Manager on my Mac and it refused to do so, I first thought this to be that issue mentioned in ReadMe.rtf ("installer writes a file /Library/Receipts/BOINC.pkg. If the installer refuses ... trash this file and try again.)

Couldn't find that file. Instead, I found out that postinstall opened a csh and run into an error with my .tcshrc

I disabled / renamed it for a minute and everything was fine - installer problem solved. Maybe this information is helpful for someone.
