I have been doing SETI for a number of years. Altho my scorecard reads Dec. 2017, I started way before that. I rejoined in 2017. I have put in a lot of SETI hours, but why. What exactly am I doing? No one has explained what my computer is used for, other than searching for ET and the gang. Would some like explain too to me what I am contributing to? I know the screensaver, is just a screensaver and nothing else. Looks nice, drives my dog crazy. Thanks in advance Greg in Massachusetts |

To "Greg in Massachusetts" Your question might best be answered on the SETI@Home forums, however looking HERE ight be a start. |

Of course he also said Publishing this paper won't mark the end of SETI@home. It may continue indefinitely. However, it will probably undergo a major transformation soon - new telescopes, new frequency bands, new front-end algorithms - that will effectively start a new experiment. We need to finish the original experiment. |

And David is still actively working on Nebula. He wrote this three days ago (in the repository, not on the web site): Eliminate separate program versions for SERENDIPAs you noticed (you have a 'special fundraiser' icon), SETI is preparing to add Parkes (southern hemisphere) as a data source. That's never been searched before. |

If we don't look we will never find, but why waste any more time or money after 18 years?? I continue the search because it's fun. |

If we don't look we will never find, but why waste any more time or money after 18 years?? I agree. If it was not for the forums I would have logged out years ago and turned off the cruncher. I feel the posts with other people help keep this endeavor worth persuing. Not just the idea of you doing this group science project. |
