In my list of BOINC network connections I can only see my dialup connections. I can't see my 10/100 network connection (to a Win XP computer that has Internet Connection Sharing enabled). How can I get BOINC to see the LAN route to the Internet?

BOINC 5.2.* series had an option to select a Lan, but it disappeared in the 5.3.* series. I'm still using 5.2.8, and have my adsl connection on the Lan option to stop the BOINC popups.

You don't need to. The "Network" option shouldn't be taken literally. Network means any means necessary to connect to the internet. It doesn't mean LAN.

What you must do is make sure your ICS works correctly on both computers.
Then BOINC will "find" its way out, just as your internet browser will find its way out without you needing to tell it where to go to.
