Hello, had a serious problem with a software. Windows XP hangs up periodically, not a system to boinc ;) So I want to fromat my harddrive, reinstall windows XP, but I also dont wanna loose all the current workunits of my 5 running projects. Will it be enough to copy the whole BOINC-folder on a CD, or must I do more? Thx for your help, Boincers! Greetings, Steffen |

That's all that's required, but a couple of things to watch out for: * Shut down the boinc manager before taking the backup, and confirm using task manager that it has actually shut down. * When restoring the files back from CD, you'll need to set the file attributes back to read/write before restarting Boinc |

That's all that's required, but a couple of things to watch out for: Thank you, thats a great answer, I guess I would have forgotten to set the file attr. or to confirm all boinc processes are shut down. Thx again! |
