I installed the latest version of BOINC (7.6.33 x64) after not running projects for a while. If I close the window while minimised it also exits the manager and any running tasks. If I close it while visible however it remains running and is visible in the system tray. I assume the latter is the correct behaviour but why exit if it's minimised? |

How do you close the window when it's minimized? You mean right-click->Exit? That will exit the client and any running tasks when you once did File->Exit->Checked "Stop running tasks when exiting the BOINC Manager" and checked "Remember this decision and do not show this dialog."->OK. You can get the exit dialog back by starting BOINC Manager->Options->Other options->Check "Enable Manager exit dialog?"->OK. |

No it's right click "Close window" and it works differently for when the window is minimised than when it's showing so I'm guessing this isn't intentional. Taskbar->Exit exits the application and any running tasks but shows the dialog first. |

If I could see I might be able to figure out why but Boinc seems to make it hard to get source code. I didn't even know windows sent different messages for visible and minimised windows. |

This seems to be an old problem https://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=8601 I don't believe the explanation that it's a windows function. Windows doesn't close programs by itself but sends a message. BOINC manager isn't handling it correctly. |

This seems to be an old problem It goes back even further than that. I use BOINC Manager 6.10.48 with the BOINC 7.6.33 client and it has the same behavior. |
