I wonder why there is neither any comment to the post from last April nor an entry for "European Union" in the country list. Is it that difficult to add it to the list ?

It's very easy to change. But that's not the point. First, it's a country list and the EU is not a country. Second, besides your comment there was not much enthusiasm from other volunteers. The questions really is not abut adding the EU but rather what other unions should we add too? What's the policy on entries in the country list? Where should we start where should we stop?

The original country list was taken from the CIA World Factbook. If you find something similar for unions like the EU we could add that list to the country list too. What I don't want to do is add EU now and some time later add AU and then some time later some other union just because one volunteer requests it.

You are right, the EU is no country per definition.

Hence, it does not belong in the list of countries.
