In 5.6.0 the snooze function was working properly: when right clicking on the Boinc Manager snoozing could be activated or deactivated.

In the 5.6.1 version, if the snooze function is activated, the function is not marked as selected and the Boinc icon in the systray doesn't change. Crunching can't be started again by hitting the snooze function once more. If the manager is closed in the snoozed state and restarted, crunching is still suspended and when opening the manager the activities are given as "Run always" and "Network activity always available". Crunching starts only over if "Run based on preferences" is hit.

5.6.1 is still alpha. If you want to use Suspend, set it to Run always. ;-)

It's already reported on the alpha email list. :-)
