Hi all,

My company has blocked the seti addy http://setiathome.berkeley.edu in the firewall, so now I can't attach any of my systems at work to this project. Anyone know of another project address that can be used for the SetiAtHome project?

Thanks.

Run SETI@home only on authorized computers

Run SETI@home only on computers that you own, or for which you have obtained the owner's permission. Some companies and schools have policies that prohibit using their computers for projects such as SETI@home

Seti@Home Rules & Policies.

If your company has blocked the address, they don't want you to use it. If you think this is in error, ask your supervisor or IT personnel for help.

Trying to get anything out of our IT department is about like trying to find a living T-Rex. I've posed the question (weeks ago) with no reply. I'm sure they had a reason, but no one knows what it is. No other BOINC projects are blocked in the firewall. I was hoping there might be an HTTPS address to use. Wasn't there an address like 'http://setiathome.boinc.edu' or something along that line at one time, when BOINC was first released?

There was, but that address is no longer in use and will even be rejected by BOINC.

If your company has a firewall with proxy, you could try to use Alpha version 5.5.16 and use the proxy option.
