The Chicks had their whole career held up because somebody took offense of her statement that she was ashamed of our president. Not good PR, but spot ont considering.

I stand with the chicks. And if you notice, they are very sad in the studio having to sing it this way.
They did not like this.......they wer not out to make a stateemnt, but at this point, having been attacked, the had to say something to defend themselves.
There was no going back at this point, all the radio stations had stopped playuing their songs........anal bastards.
There was nothing left to do except to retreat and record an answer./
Not a retraction, mind you, but an answer. And so, weeks later, Not Reakldy to make NIce hit the airwarss, and most of a clear ming undrstood.
This song, released weeks later, was their repsons to that criticixm.
