I am running SETI with BOINC on Mac OS 10.4.2. In BOINC's Messages window, the following sequence of messages appears repeatedly: Couldn't write state file: -109 Result XXXXXXXX exited with zero status but no "finished" file. If this happens repeatedly you may have to reset the project. Why is this happening? Apparently I should "reset the project", but how do I do that? In addition, the "Copy selected messages" button doesn't work - nothing gets copied to the clipboard. Is this a known bug? |

From the BOINC Wiki (bookmark the wiki): Result '(result)' exited with zero status but no 'finished' file. You reset the project by opening the Boinc Manager, Projects tab, clicking once on the Seti@Home project to select it and pressing the Reset button on the left side. As for the copy messages bug, I think it is a known bug for the Mac, yes. |

The error message you are getting is "benign" and can be caused by a number of things. At THIS time, it is safe to ignore the message. There are fixes in the pipeline that address a couple of reasons that the message is generated. As for the clipboard, that is still with us up to version 4.72, so, I do not know if it has been addressed in the 5.1.x series or not ... You have the log files in the BOINC directory, so, all the "contents" of the message tab are still available, you just have to use the log files to copy/paste them here ... |
