Hi Steffen,

I have asked one of the developers for the latest German.po file used for the Boinc Manager.

As you can see here, there are two distinct different words for uploading and downloading:

msgid "Downloading"
msgstr "Am herunterladen"

msgid "Uploading"
msgstr "Am hochladen"

So you must be missing the download message at times. ;-)

Can you check again?

Yes, I checked again. And its been my mistake, not Boincs mistake. RCN workunits are so small when downloading, i really missed the download messages, but it takes quiet long to upload them, so i only saw RCN uploading all the time...

Thank you anyway!

Greetings!

however, the concerning Seti results are downloaded, crunched and uploaded successfully. This error also doesn't show up constantly. It is only generated on every 5-8 up-/download.

Okay, here are the usual Infos (I know, I know...). BOINC version 5.6.5 (former 5.4.11, version 5.6.5 installed on Oct 22nd over the existing one (that is, I haven't removed 5.4.11 before)). Was working fine between 22nd and 24th. The first time this error has came up was on Oct 24th about 20:00 UTC. Did a PC restart since then. Direct link to the Internet (ADSL). Using Norton AntiVirus 2006 (haven't ever had any issues with it).

I have searched this fora, the SetiBeta fora (both with no success), and haven't seen someone else who has mentioned this on the Seti fora. So I thought, I do post this here...

Panic Mode On?!? Nope. Or?

Regards
Andy

2006-10-27 01:21:55 [---] Curl error: a libcurl function was given a bad argument

It's a known bug in 5.6.5 that's been fixed already for the next alpha version. It doesn't hamper the functioning of BOINC.

I have been using Boinc for quite some time with no problems. My project is Setiathome. I am using MacOs 10.4.8.The screen saver always worked until I changed from a standard CRT 17" monitor to a LCD 20" wide screen set at a resolution of 1680 X 1050. It is clear the screen saver is unable to run at this resolution. If I open the Boinc Manager and select " Show Graphics", the graphics pops up in a small window and runs fine. When I attempt to expand the window by clicking the green dot in the upper left corner of the window, it freaks out and all I get is a screen full of stars without the rest of the graphic. This is how the screen saver reacts when I try to activate it. Has anyone else had this problem?

when i installed version 5.4.11 the install was normal until it went into the bench mark then it froze. the task manager says boinc.exe and boincmgr.exe are running processes, but not using any CPU cycles. I cannot get the boinc manager window to open and cannot connect to any tasks.
version 5.2.13 would run but couldn't connect to the localhost.
my system is an ASUS P5WDH delux mobo with a Intel E6600 chip, 2gb ram, video is ATI X800 storage is Raid 1 setup WIN XP Pro all the latest updates. (Vista ultimate loaded on another partiton)
